Press
The Kings of Hearts is Raleigh songwriter Dave Harrell and singer Charlie Kennedy and friends. Their debut album, The New Olds, collects ten songs Dave wrote between the ages of 16 and 55, recorded and finished in 2026.
Dave and Charlie first played together in The 2nd, a Raleigh band that opened for Hootie and the Blowfish and The Romantics. Mitch Easter, who produced early R.E.M., produced the band’s 1992 demo. Later, as Crave, they recorded with Dick Hodgin at Osceola. Most of these songs were played live for years and never finished. The New Olds is the finishing.
